About Buzzsaw Wrestling Club

Coach Jeff Moffat

  Coach Moffat is the founder and president of the Buzzsaw Wrestling Club. He is also the head coach of the Coeur d’Alene High School Wrestling team and has been in that role for 22 years. He has coached the Coeur d’ Alene Vikings to 2 high school state championships, coached 25 state champions, 128 state medalists, 3 USA Wrestling First Team All Americans, and has a dual record of 275-83. 

Coach Chad Jennings

 Chad has loved the sport of wrestling since he was 7 years old. In high school, Chad was a state runner up and a 2-time Idaho State Champion. After high school, he went on to wrestle in college at Missouri Valley, where he was a 2-time NAIA All-American. 

After college, Chad coached for 5 years at the high school level. Now, Chad is the Vice President of the North Idaho Wrestling League. In 2003, Chad was inducted to the Idaho Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.  He enjoys coaching his 3 young boys, Carter, Blake, and Nathan and the rest of the Buzzsaw team.  

Coach Keri Stanley

 Keri has had a fruitful wrestling career - from finishing first place at State in High School, then wrestling at North Idaho College where he was a national runner up and a national champion. He then went on to wrestle at the University of Minnesota and finished his wrestling career at Dickinson State University. After graduating, he came back to North Idaho College to coach their wrestling program. He now enjoys coaching here at Buzzsaw with us, where his boys, Bodhi and Seeger both love to be on the mat. 

COACH SCOTT UNDERDAHL

 Scott was two-time high school State placer, as well as a Tri-State placer, with an aptitude for the Greco Roman style of wrestling, placing first at State. Towards the end of high school, he realized he loved mentoring the younger wrestlers and during college coached wrestling at Moscow High School, a program that went from last in the division to top eight while he coached there! Scott's son, Archer wrestles for Buzzsaw and he loves that they both share a passion for the sport.  

COACH ALEX HOWARD

  Alex placed third at state in high school, along with sixth at Tri-State. Alex was recognized by his teammates and coaches as a leader and was wrestling team captain, and received the 2005 Spirit of the Viking award. Alex believes that wrestling develops character, grit, and integrity and loves to share these lessons with our youth. He now enjoys the sport of wrestling with his son, Rylan.

COACH JESSE NEILSON

Jesse is a CHS Graduate who finished 6th, 2nd and 1st at HS State. He was also a Greko All American his Senior year. In college, he wrestled for NIC as an All American and went on to wrestle at the University of Northern Colorado where he was a 2 time All American. Jesse loves the sport and club Buzzsaw, where he gets to work out with his daughter, Emerson and his son, Elijah.  

COACH PAUL MARIENAU

 Paul was a varsity wrestler all through high school as well as earning 4th place at State. Paul was recognized for his leadership by his coaches and teammates, serving as captain for three years. On the mat is where learned that hard work, dedication and perseverance is what it takes to be successful both on and off the mat. He is passionate about sharing those skills and mindset with the next generation of wrestlers. He loves sharing the sport with his son, Conrad and enjoys the opportunity to coach him and the rest of the Buzzsaw team.
 

COACH CHASE ROBERTS

Chase Roberts began wrestling at the age of four and brings five years of experience coaching youth club wrestling alongside his son, Forrest. A lifelong athlete, he was a four-year letterman in football and track, earning First Team IEL honors as both a running back and defensive back. Coach Roberts emphasizes strong fundamentals, mental toughness, and dedication to hard work, believing that the lessons learned through wrestling extend far beyond the mat.

COACH JACOB MOLINAR

Jacob wrestled for a short while as a kid and then found his stride in high school. He wrestled 2 years Varsity at Indio High School in Indio, California, and found that the sport taught him to be dedicated, to persevere, and to be confident and courageous. He now get to share these lessons and his love for wrestling and with his two sons, Jacob Jr. and Jaxon who wrestle for Buzzsaw.

COACH PAT BERGER

Pat comes from a family with a long line of wrestlers. He started wrestling when at 4 years old up and never stopped! Wrestling for Post Falls Middle School Pat took Championships in 7th and 8th grade and for Post Falls High School Pat took 5th in the State Championship. After High School he helped coach at the Post Falls Youth Wrestling Club and continued to travel and compete in Freestyle competitions.
Now Pat is grateful to coach and wrestle with his two boys, Lane and Cole, in Buzzsaw Wrestling Club where he is able to share his experience in the sport he loves.

COACH Jason Townsend

 Jason Townsend began his wrestling career at the age of seven in Indian Head, Maryland. He graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1995 after winning two Maryland State High School Wrestling titles. He attended Syracuse University and Hofstra, wrestling for both. 

 Jason worked as an NCAA Assistant Wrestling Coach for California State University at Fullerton while acquiring his Bachelor's Degree in 2006. Jason then traveled to Las Vegas where he was the Head Wrestling Coach for Xtreme Couture MMA. Jason was the USA Wrestling Manager of Developing Wrestling Styles as well as the Grappling World Team Coach and Team Leader where he coached the team to 9 individual gold medals and the team title at the 2007 World Championships and the No Gi and Gi World Team Title at the 2008 World Championships. He is very proud to be the author of the first FILA Grappling official rules and regulations. In 2011, he was inducted into the Maryland Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. 

He now enjoys coaching folkstyle and freestyle wrestling at Buzzsaw where his boys, JJ, Trey, and Ray work out.
